Informational
Campaign
Since September
'98, the informational campaign on 4 social
reforms - the self-government, healthcare,
educational, and pension system reforms, has been
carried out. The main purpose of this campaign is
to provide people with information which will
allow them to understand the changes introduced
and benefit from the possibilities which they
open.
The informational
campaign was started at the moment when the basic
decision regarding the form of implemented
reforms were made. This campaign, prepared by the
Government Information Centre and the Department
for Social Reforms Co-ordination KPRM constituted
an element of the new government informational
policy, associated with stepping back from the
stage of discussions and agreements to the
enforcement of concrete solutions. Until now, the
public was informed on the work on reforms on the
current basis, now it is provided with
information on each of the reforms. The
activities undertaken constitute a typical
example of public information, i.e. the
disclosure of information on issues of great
social importance.
The campaign is
carried out through the media and through direct
access of the persons interested in issues
connected with reforms. The television spots
inform on the entering into life of each of the
reforms, reminding the public about the basic
changes they introduce. TVP, press
advertisements, and billboards promote the
telephone number opened specifically for the
purposes of the campaign. Everybody, after
placing a telephone order at the following
number:
(0 22) 645 66 44,
may obtain a
free-of-charge brochure in the subject he/she is
interested in. The brochures prepared for the
campaign have the form of questions and answers.
The questions are the most frequent uncertainties
about the reforms. The construction of brochures
was preceded by social surveys (focused group
surveys) diagnosing the informational deficits
and needs.
The informational
campaign will last up to February 1999. In
subsequent months informational brochures on
subsequent reforms may be ordered.
